The Ghost Light Residency activates the theaters in the greater Los Angeles area by granting underrepresented dance theater artists an incubation period to creatively reflect on their artistic process and expression IN RELATIONSHIP TO OUR THEATRICAL HOMES.

Each Ghost Light artist will be given time and space to develop work, inside one of our partnering venues. These HAPPENINGS will be filmed, archived to our website, and made accessible to the public. Much like the ritual of always leaving the ghost light on in the theater, these artists will energize THE EMPTY THEATERS. These artists will apply and be chosen through a lottery to avoid hierarchal decision making.
